Ijebu North LG Set To Deliver 0.72km Central Mosque–Oke Jaga–Oke Sopen Road

The 0.72km Central Mosque–Oke Jaga–Oke Sopen Road project in Ijebu Igbo, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State, is nearing completion. The road is part of the infrastructural drive led by the Executive Chairman, Mr. Bolaji Odusanya, under the #Bolaji2.0 agenda.

During an inspection visit to the site, Mr. Odusanya reiterated his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development and inclusive growth across the local government.

“Our focus remains on projects that promote development and prioritize the welfare of our people,” he stated.

He described the road construction and other ongoing initiatives as strategic efforts aimed at enhancing mobility, boosting local economic activities, and improving the quality of life for residents.

According to him, the road will be completed in the coming weeks, with additional road construction planned across both state constituencies in Ijebu North. He stressed that the development agenda covers both urban and rural areas.

In the health sector, the administration has rehabilitated several Primary Health Centres, facilitated free eye screenings, distributed 510 eyeglasses, and sponsored cataract surgeries for 101 residents.

In education, the local government organized quiz and debate competitions, with winners honoured through symbolic recognition such as “A Day Chairman” titles. Seven students also received full scholarships. The administration further revived the annual Children’s Day celebration and continues to support youth development and entrepreneurship initiatives.

On security, Odusanya pledged to reinforce existing structures and lauded the cooperation of traditional rulers, community leaders, religious heads, local businesses, party faithful, and security agencies.

He also announced plans to establish an Ijebu North ICT Centre, which will focus on training and retraining youths in various information and communication technology (ICT) programs to enhance employability and digital literacy.

Mr. Odusanya expressed gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his steadfast support for the local government’s development agenda.

“Without His Excellency’s encouragement and support, these achievements would not have been possible. We are confident of his continued backing as we work to deliver more,” he said.

The Chairman concluded by assuring residents that the ongoing projects represent only the beginning of broader efforts to meet the needs and aspirations of the people.
